1. What should I do first now?

2. Everyone says that all money is online, I put together the website but don’t have sales (or sales are slow)

Running an online business is no different than building it offline where you expect three to five years of break-even time. Overheads are the only difference. I don’t want you to have false hopes. Running online boutique requires tons of time, knowledge and hard work. There is no get-rich-fast formula.

The truth is: online retail business is hard, but I’ll do my best to guide you and provide you the info you need. However, I won’t be able to force you take action and to follow my advice precisely. That would be your decision.

3. I want my business to be successful, but I don’t know where to start, there are so many things to do, what’s priority?

First thing I recommend you to do, even before you have your store – start building your email list and your community of people who are interested in products that you will sell. Business is all about the customer base. 4. I love fashion (beauty, etc.) Can I run my store with no budgets and e-commerce / online marketing knowledge?

Loving fashion or beauty has nothing to do with running a retail business full of tedious, repetitive, time-consuming tasks. If you love fashion, start a fashion blog and monetize it.
The pure truth is…no. It is no different than to let a surgeon perform surgery without knowledge and experience, but less dangerous because you are the only one who will suffer by losing time and money.
You can get away with tiny budgets if you know and always learning what you are doing.

5. If I hire you or some other expert what can you do for my store?

Each case is different. If you ask someone this question and receive answers right away, this should be a major red flag. I like medical analogy here as well. A doctor must run tests first to prescribe a treatment.

6. I have a brick and mortar location and want to take it online. Will it be possible to succeed and be profitable?

Everything is possible, but competition is tremendous. Going into 2018 with a brand new site, you have to follow all the main best practices and take strategic shortcuts to beat the competition. And another main thing – online business means continuous learning because things change daily and there are too many “professionals” with excellent sales skills who will promise you miracles and take your hard worked money.
